At the Rainbow Centre Barnet, school holidays are not just a break from the classroom – they’re an opportunity for children to embark on a journey of discovery, creativity, and delicious culinary delights. Our Holiday Lunch Club, a cornerstone of our community projects, once again welcomed children and families this Easter for an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, learning, and scrumptious meals.
Running faithfully every school holiday, including half terms, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, the Holiday Lunch Club offers much more than just a meal. Each session spans two enriching hours, brimming with a diverse array of activities tailored to engage and entertain children of all ages and interests. From art and craft sessions that unleash creativity to exhilarating outdoor adventures like obstacle course races and sports competitions, there’s something for everyone at the Rainbow Centre Barnet.
Indoors, children immerse themselves in a world of puzzles, card games, and giant table games, fostering camaraderie and strategic thinking. For those with a flair for movement, workshops in dance and circus skills provide an outlet for self-expression and physical coordination. Meanwhile, aspiring artists find their muse in mosaic designing and painting workshops, discovering new talents and honing their craft.
But perhaps the highlight of the Holiday Lunch Club is the mouthwatering fare prepared by our talented chef, Lucas. This Easter, our menu dazzled taste buds with an array of delectable dishes, including comforting classics like Shepherd’s pie, flavorful beef curry, and succulent roast chicken dinners. Dessert aficionados were treated to indulgent delights such as apple crumble with custard and the local favorite, Tottenham cake, leaving no palate unsatisfied.
Beyond the gastronomic delights, the Easter programme at the Rainbow Centre Barnet showcased the boundless creativity of our community through a poster design competition. Children poured their hearts and imaginations into crafting posters that capture the essence of the Rainbow Centre, with three finalists emerging as shining examples of artistic talent and innovation. Their creations now adorn our walls, serving as a reminder of the vibrant spirit and inclusivity that define our community.
As we bid farewell to another memorable Easter programme, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who joined us in making it a resounding success. Together, we continue to nurture a space where children can thrive, explore, and create lasting memories. Join us again this summer for more adventures, more laughter, and more delicious surprises at the Rainbow Centre Barnet’s Holiday Lunch Club.
