A Day of Sunshine and Gratitude: Our Foodbank Volunteers Enjoy a Seaside Outing

On Friday, 2nd August, our dedicated Foodbank volunteers had the opportunity to unwind and enjoy a much-deserved day out at Walton-on-the-Naze. Thanks to generous funding from the Mercers Company, who support our weekly foodbank operations, we were able to organize this special trip as a way to give back to the incredible individuals who tirelessly help our community.

The volunteers, along with their families, spent the day soaking up the sun and enjoying classic beach activities. From building sandcastles and having a picnic on the beach to taking refreshing dips in the sea, the day was filled with joy and laughter. To top it all off, everyone savored a delicious ice cream before heading home.

One of our volunteers shared, “The kids had an amazing day and were very tired by the end of it,” capturing the fun and fulfillment the day brought to all involved.

We are immensely grateful to our Foodbank volunteers, whose dedication and hard work make a tremendous difference in the lives of those in need. This day was a small token of our appreciation for everything they do, and we’re delighted they had such a wonderful time.

A special thank you to the Mercers Company for making this memorable day possible and for their continued support in funding our foodbank. It’s moments like these that highlight the importance of community and the difference we can make when we come together.
