As the summer holidays drew to a close, the end of the Lunch Club program brought an exciting surprise for the hardworking Junior leaders. On the 18th of August, they were treated to a memorable day out ice skating at the iconic Alexandra Palace in North London. This well-deserved reward was a token of appreciation for their dedication and commitment over the past four weeks, where they had supervised sports sessions, cooked meals, and organized creative arts & crafts activities for the younger children at the Lunch Club.
Dee, Maddie, Eloise, Valerie, Lucas, and Giuseppe, the exceptional Junior leaders who made this program possible, were given the opportunity to choose from a selection of outings. And it was no surprise that the classic favorite, ice skating, emerged as the unanimous choice. Their day at Ally Pally turned out to be an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, camaraderie, and a few wobbly moments on the ice.
The trip to Alexandra Palace was a perfect choice. Nestled in the heart of North London, Ally Pally is known for its stunning panoramic views of the city and its rich history. For the Junior leaders, it was not only an opportunity to have fun but also a chance to bond outside of their usual roles at the Lunch Club.
In the end, it was a day of joy, laughter, and gratitude—a fitting reward for the outstanding work of these young leaders. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for the Lunch Club in the future. Thank you again, Dee, Maddie, Eloise, Valerie, Lucas, and Giuseppe, for your remarkable contributions!
