Dollis Valley Community Orchard at the Rainbow Centre
On Saturday 17th October, local residents and volunteers from the Rainbow Centre gathered alongside the Orchard project team for a fantastic afternoon of learning, tasting, and hands-on planting right next to the Centre.
The Orchard project team brought along an inspiring selection of apples and local fruits for everyone to sample, alongside a wealth of books and guides to spark ideas for the upcoming orchard project.
It was a true community effort to prepare the new meadow area. Volunteers of all ages rolled up their sleeves to pick litter and scarify the ground, creating the ideal soil conditions to sow fresh seeds. The children took charge of setting the boundaries, hand-crafting a lovely border and putting up a dedicated sign for the plot.
